In 1996, BRODIX Cylinder Heads decided to take their casting expertise in a new direction by introducing an aluminum small block Chevrolet compatible engine block, the 8B 1000. This block soon became the strongest and most versatile aluminum block in the industry and conquered the late model and sprint car markets. These blocks feature several available options such as many deck heights, lightening programs, cam bearing sizes, and main cap options. In 2003 after realizing the enormous success of the aluminum small block, BRODIX introduced the 8B 2000, an aluminum big block Chevy compatible engine block. Like its predecessor, this aluminum block soon became the industry standard for its application. BRODIX listened to the needs of the racers and developed the 8B 5000 block in 2007. The 8B 5000 combined the size and durability of a 5.0 bore spacing block with the convenience and availability of its 4.840 counterpart. It was the first user-friendly 5.0 bore spacing block ever produced. BRODIX then capped off its current line of engine blocks by designing the all new 8B 1200. This recent invention features 4.500 bore spacing and is capable of displacements well over 500 cubic inches. The 8B 1200 has undoubtedly taken small block Chevrolet compatible technology to the next plateau. With the consistent trend towards aluminum block research and development who knows what the future holds at BRODIX.
